Product Description
Rubber Cone Packing is a conical sealing component used at the upper and lower connections of tubular liquid level gauges. It fits around the gauge glass tube and is compressed inside the gauge fitting or packing nut to form a secure seal.
The tapered profile helps distribute compression evenly around the glass tube. This reduces leakage while cushioning the glass against direct contact with the metal fitting. It also accommodates small dimensional variations between the tube and gauge connection.
EPDM is the standard material for water, hot water and many low-pressure steam applications because of its resistance to heat, ageing, ozone and water. Other compounds can be supplied according to the operating medium. NBR is suitable for oil-related applications, while FKM can be selected for higher temperatures, fuels and certain chemicals.
These rubber cones are commonly used with clear, red-line and heavy-wall gauge glass tubes installed on water tanks, boilers, storage vessels and industrial liquid level indicators.
EPDM is the standard material for rubber cone packing because it offers excellent resistance to water, hot water, ageing, ozone and many dilute acids and alkalis. It is widely used for sealing tubular gauge glass in water tanks, boilers and industrial liquid level gauges. EPDM is not recommended for mineral oils, fuels or hydrocarbon-based fluids.
